After receiving its premier performance during the chamber music concert series of the Verbier Musical Festival, Switzerland (with Sofia Lebed - Viola, Paruaz Salimov - Piano), Oboist/Composer/Conductor Andrey Rubtsov's Adagio Soave from "Two pieces for Viola and Piano" became #1 in Top scores voted for by visitors on SibeliusMusic - the largest collection of new scores on the Web, containing more than 36.000 compositions. I too fell in love with this piece and Andrey's work so much that I began performing his Viola, Flute and Oboe works on Clarinet as a student at the Royal Conservatory of Ghent in Belgium. I have since paid homage to Andrey by offering my skills in arranging and orchestrating Adagio Soave, with his blessing, for symphony orchestra in order to capture the mood of this piece on a far grander, cinematic scale.
