asterios79 At least there was plenty of great music during the 2020. This release is an example. Favorite track: Liam's Fugue.

SPIKED TINSEL is an album of namegrams (musical cryptograms) incorporating a diverse array of ALAANA and LGBTQ+ supporters throughout the United States and the globe. Each piece represents the name of close friends and those whom have commissioned or inspired works for this album.
Apart from the main works, there is a 7-part series of hidden bonus tracks called "101 Ghosts", which is a sonification of the New York TImes' May 24th article on the 100,000 COVID deaths in the United States.
This experimental work, lasting over 3.5 hours, demonstrates how algorithmic composition (when applied to these name grams) differs from the human creativity shown in the series of 19 X-grams commissioned directly by supporters of Ahmadeus Beaux-Arts. The work is uncomplicated, but rather laborious to hear. Pace yourself. It is broken into 7 parts, each between 4.5 minutes and 1 hour. Purchase required to access.

about

Spiked Tinsel (a play on the words "Spike Proteins" and "Tinsel" to generate the neologism "Spiketeinsel") is an experimental album incorporating namegrams, X-grams, and algorithmic bonus compositions acknowledging the first 100 COVID deaths in the United States published in the New York Times. The matching title work is a reflection on COVID19, the year 2020, and the rise of the vaccine wars (or better put, the vaccine "race").

The overall work is a launch album that led to the incorporation of Ahmadeus Beaux-Arts and my acceptance as a collaborating member company of Newlab (a high-tech startup incubator, i.a.) located at the Brooklyn Navy Yard in New York City. These commissions were funded in part by the United States Artists: Artist Relief Grant, which I was awarded in August 2020. We hope to achieve ongoing support in 2021 to transform "101 Ghosts" to full works (not as is, but as those which have been presented in the preceding 19 tracks) in a committed effort to commemorate the lives of those who fell (and continue to fall) victim to the coronavirus and complications related to COVID19, COVID panic, mental health suffering, job loss, financial loss, and other losses sustained as a result of global lockdowns.

Many thanks to all those who commissioned works to make this album possible!
