Londonderry Air for Clarinet & E.Piano

by Bryan A. Crumpler

Short, 2-minute piece based on the traditional Irish Tune from County Derry.

Parts now available for purchase!

The work is an independent arrangement for clarinet & (electric) piano / keyboard. It was written for my brother and sister-in-law to commemorate the dedication ceremony of their daughter Natalia a few months shy of 1 (they need nice relaxing tunes to keep babies calm on the home front...). In any case, the Irish tune was selected given its hint towards the borrowed, yet modernly familiar theme from "You Raise Me Up" - an appropriate song of which to be reminded at the time of her dedication.

I first recorded this arrangement in February 2014 (see "Buy Sheet Music" to purchase parts) and it was first performed live in May 2014 by one of my 3rd grade students, Master Devin Powell, at his Spring recital. Definitely an easy solo piece for beginning to intermediate players, and enjoyable to hear as well!
