"Faerie Floss" is an original solo work for a most sophisticated pianist. It has 2 versions: a Vanguard Edition and a Waltz Edition, which both come bundled in this purchase. They are NOT movements, but rather stylistic variants of each other.

The Waltz Edition is fairly traditional in tonal and harmonic material, with an ad libitum that glimmers into the realm of jazz.

The Vanguard Edition, as the name suggests, is the avant-garde version of the Waltz and packed with many more challenges for the listener. Be that as it may, it is an accessible contemporary work that encapsulates all the flair of a high-end competition piece and works as a dazzling encore as well. It may optionally be supported by a wind quintet* in the majestic climax of the latter half of the work, for added effect.
